Readers may have noticed the lack of archives and calendar in the sidebar here at mohai.conlang.org. This is deliberate. They have been left out to make more room for subject access via tags and categories, and to create a clutter-free reading experience.
The material presented here is not related to the real world and therefore not time dependent. A blog about politics, sport or fashion would need these features, but I don’t think mine does.
Also, my posts are meant to stand the test of time. If I change an idea, I update the old post, rather than make a new one. I assume therefore, that it’s not of great interest what I wrote when.
On the other hand, much of the terminology used here is unique to this site. Readers will also be interested in questions about the culture of the study area and the nature of its languages. Subject access therefore is crucial.
I have drawn on my experience as a library cataloguer to create an extensive and hopefully logical web of categories and tags. As of yesterday, each of these comes with a definition. There is also a free-search tool. Related posts are increasingly linked to each other. Readers are invited to make full use of these tools to find out more.
